Job Title: High School Paraprofessional
Location: Boise City Public School District, Boise City, Oklahoma
Position Overview:
Boise City Public School District is seeking a reliable and student-focused High School Paraprofessional to join our secondary education team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and administrators to support students’ academic and behavioral success, assist in daily classroom activities, and contribute to a positive and productive learning environment. This position requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine desire to help students thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education staff.
Assist individual students or small groups with assignments, classwork, and organization.
Support students with special needs, both academically and behaviorally, in various settings.
Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
Monitor students during classroom transitions, lunch, or other non-instructional times.
Assist with implementing accommodations and modifications outlined in student IEPs or 504 plans.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families when needed.
Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Associate’s degree, 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of a Paraprofessional Certification (preferred).
Previous experience working with adolescents or in an educational setting (preferred).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to stay calm and supportive in a variety of classroom situations.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
Familiarity with educational technology and basic computer skills.
