Job Title: Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor

Location: Boise City Public School District, Boise City, Oklahoma

Position Overview: Boise City Public School District is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor to join our team. This dual role involves teaching agricultural science courses and leading the FFA chapter, guiding students in both academic and extracurricular agricultural activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture, education, and leadership, with the ability to inspire and engage students in the agricultural sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

Agriculture Education Teacher:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive agriculture curriculum that includes courses such as animal science, plant science, agricultural mechanics, and agribusiness.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and hands-on instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of agricultural concepts.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all students.

  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the learning styles and abilities of individual students.

  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and families.

  • Integrate technology and current agricultural practices into instruction to enhance learning opportunities for students.

  • Maintain and manage agricultural facilities, equipment, and resources, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.

FFA Advisor:

  • Lead the FFA chapter, planning and overseeing FFA activities, events, and competitions.

  • Mentor and guide FFA members in developing leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Assist students in preparing for and participating in local, state, and national FFA events and competitions.

  • Coordinate and supervise FFA community service projects, fundraisers, and other chapter activities.

  • Foster a sense of pride, responsibility, and achievement among FFA members.

  • Collaborate with other FFA advisors, agricultural educators, and industry professionals to provide students with a broad range of opportunities and experiences.

  • Promote the FFA program within the school and community, building strong relationships and support for agricultural education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Valid teaching license or certification in agricultural education

  • Previous teaching experience in agricultural education and/or experience as an FFA advisor (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of agricultural science curriculum, instructional strategies, and FFA programs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Passion for agriculture, education, and student development.
